Experts in Landscaping – Certified Nursery and Landscape Professionals
Our staff consists of Certified Nursery & Landscape Professionals (CNLPs). CNLPs have a minimum of three years work experience in the industry, take a rigorous proficiency examination administered by the New York State Nursery & Landscape Association, and must maintain an ongoing educational program.
Scott Benson President
Scott founded Benson Enterprises in 1987 and has built it into a trusted landscaping partner through hands-on leadership, unwavering customer service, and a personal approach that keeps him accessible to every client.
Having started the company in 1987 while still in high school, he continued to grow the business while attending college at Alfred State. After college, Scott used his knowledge and experience in the landscaping field to expand Benson Enterprises to what it is today.
He continues to have the same personal approach as when he started the company by being readily accessible to all his customers. His strong work ethic and belief in excellent customer service are reflected in all aspects of the company from the courteous, knowledgeable employees to the excellent quality of the services.
Ben Casper Director of Sales
As our Director of Sales, Ben brings over 15 years of experience in landscaping and customer service, making him a vital part of guiding projects from concept to completion.
He works closely with customers to understand their maintenance and installation goals, ensuring each project is customized to their needs. Known for his outgoing personality and extensive landscape knowledge, Ben makes every interaction both efficient and enjoyable. His years of hands-on experience and passion for nature give him the expertise and confidence to deliver outstanding results for every client.
Nicole Reddington Senior Landscape Architect
Nicole brings more than 25 years of landscape design and construction experience to Benson Landscape & Design, guiding clients from the first conversation through the completion of their project.
Her design vocabulary has been shaped by high-end residential work in the Hamptons, Long Island’s North Shore, New York City and Rochester. Nicole enjoys getting to know each client personally and approaches every design as a unique puzzle to solve, pairing creativity with extensive technical expertise. She also works directly with municipalities to secure construction approvals, helping projects move forward smoothly.
Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She is also a galleried artist who creates nature-inspired abstract work.
Greg Fritz, CNLP Senior Landscape Designer
Our Senior Landscape Designer, Greg Fritz, is a very talented and professional design artist with a stunning portfolio of completed projects.
His knowledge of plants and building materials combined with his extraordinary creativity enables him to design landscapes of many styles and themes. His outgoing personality, communication skills and hands-on approach to detail make working with him both productive and enjoyable.
Greg approaches each landscape design with sensitivity to the surrounding environment, an understanding of each homeowner’s lifestyle and attention to the architectural characteristics of each home. He interacts directly with customers through the design and bidding process and oversees the work throughout all phases of construction. Greg is a Certified Nursery & Landscape Professional (CNLP) with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Connecticut. He has worked in the landscaping field since 1995.
Aaron Jones Landscape Consultant
Aaron is responsible for advising customers on their landscaping needs.
He also provides direction and support to crew members to ensure that jobs are done to our clients ’expectations.
Aaron graduated from St. John Fisher with a degree in adolescent teaching. He taught for the Rochester City School District for 5 years, while working at Benson during the summers.
Gil Murphy, ISA Certified, NYS DEC Pesticide Technician Landscape Consultant
Gil is an ISA Certified Arborist with extensive experience in tree care services.
He works closely with clients to educate them on our offerings and help them select the best solutions for their landscaping needs. While new to the broader landscape field, Gil is eager to learn and grow his knowledge of plants and landscapes. Known for his outgoing personality and excellent listening skills, Gil is dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
Gil resides in Rochester with his wife and daughter.
Jason Erb, NYS DEC Commercial Pesticide Applicator Director of Operations
Jason Erb is the Director of Operations at Benson Landscape & Design, where he oversees daily operations, production teams, and service quality across the company.
During his 8 years with Benson, Jason has grown from a field Team Leader into an important leadership role, bringing hands-on experience, industry knowledge, and a strong commitment to both our team and customers. He works closely with managers and crews to help ensure every project and service reflects the quality and professionalism Benson is known for.
Shawn Ballone, CNLP, NYS DEC Commercial Pesticide Applicator Operations Manager
Shawn has an actual lifetime of experience in the landscaping industry and is able to bring an impressive skillset and list of industry certifications along with his unique 360 degree perspective to meet every challenge from all aspects of sales to design/build to the completion process.
He is a goal-oriented strategist who loves helping people develop their skills and build the confidence to achieve things they never thought they could. He thrives on meeting challenges and problem solving as part of a team that wins by transforming clients into raving fans of Benson Enterprises.
Eric Wendt Operations Manager
Eric is an energetic, people-focused Operations Manager with a strong background in leadership and a passion for creating outdoor spaces that our clients truly love.
He approaches every project with thoughtful problem-solving, clear communication, and a commitment to integrity. Eric’s ability to bring teams together and keep projects running smoothly makes him an invaluable part of the Benson Landscape & Design operations team. When he isn’t working, Eric enjoys spending time in nature and diving into a good book.
Klein Vergara Director of Business Operations
Klein leads business operations at Benson Landscape & Design, strengthening the systems, processes, and reporting that turn priorities into action.
His background spans nearly two decades in NYC hospitality leadership and further study in business strategy and analytics at the Golisano Institute. He's driven by problem-solving and a simple philosophy: "Always be proactive, not reactive." Having built his career from the ground up, Klein believes there's more than one path to professional growth.
Eimy Acevedo People Success Coordinator
Eimy Acevedo is our People Success Coordinator, supporting our Team Members, Team Leaders, and Operations Managers across the organization.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Eimy plays an important role in training, communication, and translation to help ensure our teams stay connected and supported. With a positive attitude and strong focus on teamwork, she is passionate about creating a smooth and welcoming experience for employees while helping our team continue to grow and succeed.
Mike Scaletta Technology Solutions Coordinator
As our Technology Solutions Coordinator, Mike drives technological innovation at Benson Landscape & Design. He works behind the scenes to find practical solutions across hardware, software configuration and development, and data, so that our team can stay focused on serving our customers.
Mike came to IT from a customer service background, led by a lifelong interest in computers and technology. That experience gives him a clear understanding of how the right tools support both our employees and our clients. Optimization and progress motivate him, and he takes pride in work that helps the entire team perform at its best.
Mike holds a certificate in AI in Business from the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. Outside of work, he enjoys golf.
Audra Mayne Administrative Assistant
Audra has worked 5 years in the landscaping industry and has 30 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance/sales, and customer service. She is the Administrative Assistant to the team and oversees AR collections, invoicing, and phone support.
With a passion for seeing projects to their completion, Audra strives to help her team and provide great team and client experiences through her positivity and determination. She is always working to improve her skillsets and carry out her role to the best of her ability.
Pablo Gomez Customer Service Specialist
As our Customer Service Specialist, Pablo is often the first person clients speak with at Benson Landscape & Design. He answers questions, gathers project details and connects each client with the right team member to begin the landscape design consultation process.
Pablo brings more than 13 years of sales and customer service experience, along with a strong background in business administration. In previous roles, he coached agents, supervised teams, helped develop standard operating procedures and earned numerous awards for his work in customer service and sales.
Pablo makes sure every client’s information is complete and accurate before it reaches our sales team, so each project starts off on the right foot. Motivated by growth and helping others succeed, he combines relationship building and leadership with a proactive, adaptable approach that reflects Benson’s commitment to courteous, knowledgeable service.
